CLICKS’s CEO Dr. Narimane Hadj-Hamou Joined over 450 Higher Education Leaders from 64 countries at the Times Higher Education’s World Education Summit in New York to discuss trajectories of higher education for institutions, students and the HE sector as a whole and how to meet the rising expectations of various stakeholders.

The summit that took place from October 10-12 and organized by THE in collaboration with New York University also reviled the the results of the 2023 edition of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. This year’s ranking involved 1,799 institutions from 104 countries and witnessed the rise and improvement in the Arab World universities performance.

Dr. Hadj- Hamou presented on a panel that addressed shaping the trajectory of consumer demand for institutions. The panel involved Dr. Oriol Amat, Rector of Pompeu Fabra University in Spain and Dr. Teruo Fujii, President of University of Tokyo and was moderated by Tim Sowula from THE.

In her intervention Dr. Narimane addressed what ‘consumer demand’ meant in the context of the work of CLICKS and what are the key raising demands for its consumers. She also highlighted some of the trajectories that may be of greater disruption in the region over the next few years; on the top of these were digital transformation and the emergence of alternative learning pathways.

Dr Hadj Hamou shared insights on various strategies and platforms adopted by the center to increase its ability to respond to consumer demands and rising expectations and provided examples of how successful regional and International partnerships with other institutions were established to help respond to the demands and expectations of its consumers .

Among speakers and presenters at the summit were Prof. Louise Richardson, Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford; Rocky Tuan, President of the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Michael Crow, President of Arizona State University; Anthony Finkelstein, President of City University, London, Vice Chancellor of the University of Auckland and Mark Scott, President of University of Sydney among others.

During the days of the summit CLICKS’s CEO, organized a series of meetings with leaders of HEIs to discuss future collaboration.
