The Center for Learning Innovations and Customized Knowledge Solutions (CLICKS) held its first meeting with its newly established International Leadership Advisory Board for the 2024-2027 term. Now in its third iteration, the board comprises 13 distinguished members from across the globe, each selected for their expertise in one of CLICKS’s six core areas: leadership development and governance, strategic planning, quality assurance and accreditation, innovative teaching and learning, research in higher education, and student support and academic advising. These members were also chosen for their alignment with CLICKS’s vision and their commitment to contributing their time and insights toward impactful advancements in higher education.
The inaugural meeting, held virtually on October 28, 2024, with 12 board members in attendance, began with a formal review of the board’s terms of reference and the nomination process for selecting the chair and vice chair. Members of the Board were introduced to CLICKS’s current portfolio of activities before being presented with the new three-year strategic plan for input and endorsement.
Other key strategic items on the agenda included the upcoming 7th MENA Higher Education Biennial Leadership Forum theme, positioned as one of CLICKS’s premium international platform to support ongoing dialogue among higher education leaders, decision-makers, and external stakeholders on addressing emerging trends, setting future strategies, and fostering inter-regional collaboration. The board also discussed expanding the Zairi Awards for Excellence in Higher Education into new regions to broaden the awards’ reach to further recognize innovative contributions to academic excellence.
Reflecting on the importance of the advisory board, CLICKS CEO Dr. Narimane Hadj-Hamou stated, “Since 2012, the insights and international perspectives shared by our advisory board have been invaluable in guiding our strategic direction. We are privileged to work with such esteemed leaders who share our commitment to advancing higher education. I am deeply appreciative of each member’s dedication and vision as we move forward together. I strongly believe that along the board and other of our stakeholders, CLICKS is well-positioned to continue its mission of fostering excellence and innovation in higher education, setting new standards and creating a lasting impact not only in the Arab region but beyond.”
