6th MENA Higher Education Leadership Forum Invites Global Leaders and Decision Makers

The Technical Committees of the MENA Higher Education Leadership (MENA-HELF) is inviting Higher Education Leader and Decision Makers from across the globe to join and contribute to the forthcoming 6 th edition of the Biennial Forum organized under the theme “Towards a New Generation of Engaged Universities: The Need to Act, Adapt and Transform” from the 16th to 18 th or April, 2024, in the mesmerizing City of Dubai, at the iconic Address Dubai Mall Hotel in Dubai, UAE.

The Technical Committee encourages higher education leaders and experts globally to submit relevant institutional case studies aligned with the forum’s central theme and sub-themes for presentation during the event. The MENA-HELF, organized by the Center for Learning Innovations and Customized Knowledge Solutions, has emerged as a dynamic global platform happening in the region, drawing Higher Education Leaders and Decision Makers from over 50 countries. Each edition of the Forum witnesses the forum’s continued growth in both size and significance.

The three-day program is meticulously designed to offer participants ample opportunities to engage and share their views and perspectives. It will feature plenary sessions with keynote addresses, fireside chats, panel discussions for deep exploration of evolving trends in higher education, round table discussions, pre-conference workshops, and case study presentations, among other activities. Through this dynamic format, the aim is to investigate how universities can innovate, adapt, and transform to
sustain meaningful engagement at all levels. Participants will exchange knowledge, outline strategic roadmaps, showcase best practices, and celebrate success stories.

Among the confirmed speakers are Prof. Olusola Oyewole, Secretary-General of the Association of African Universities (AAU); Dr. Mohamed Lachemi, President and VC of Ryerson University in Canada; Prof. Francisco Marmolejo, Higher Education President at Qatar Foundation; Prof. Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University in the UAE; Dr Ahmed Al Yamani, President of Prince Sultan University in KSA; Dr. Shahin V. BAYRAMOV, Rector of Mingachevir State University (MSU) in Azerbaijan and Prof. Tawana Kupe, Vice-chancellor of the University of Pretoria in South Africa among
others.

The Forum will also witness the announcement of the winners of the 3rd Cycle of the Zairi International Awards for Excellence in Higher Education. The awards were established to recognize and celebrate Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that are proactively addressing global educational challenges and making significant impacts within their own contexts through embracing excellence and innovation in specific areas relevant to digital transformation, research impact, service to the community, internationalization, equity, and more.
