Emeritus Professor Chrissie Boughey has a long history in research and publication in her own field of higher education studies. Much of her academic research has been on academic writing and she has used insights from this work to design workshops and other activities intended to develop others as successful academic writers.

Prof Boughey also has extensive experience in editing for journals. She is a member of the editorial boards of a number of prestigious international journals in her field including Teaching in Higher Education and Arts, Humanities in Higher Education and the International Journal of Academic Development. In addition, she is an associate editor of the South African Journal of Science, the official journal of the South African Academy of Sciences. She also reviews for a host of other journals including Studies in Higher Education, Higher Education, Higher Education Research and Development and Innovations in Education and Teaching International.
