Tina Melcher is the Director and Clinical Associate Professor of the UTeach-Liberal Arts Program at The University of Texas at Austin. Her responsibilities include overseeing the UTeach-Liberal Arts program and instructing preservice teachers in preparation for certification as a secondary social studies teacher. During her career, she has served as a secondary social studies teacher and curriculum coordinator as well president of the Texas Council for the Social Studies and Texas Social Studies Supervisors Association. She has presented workshops in the areas of teaching and learning and social studies education across Texas and the United States. Her learning portfolio includes curriculum design, inquiry based learning, social studies pedagogy, and educational leadership. Melcher holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University, and Mid-management certification from the University of Houston.
