Panel Overview
The recent escalation of conflict in the region has placed higher education institutions in a rapidly evolving and deeply uncertain environment. Universities are being called upon to respond quickly managing immediate disruptions while continuing to support students, faculty, partnerships, and institutional operations.
This panel brings together university presidents to reflect on how their institutions are navigating this moment, making critical decisions under pressure, and maintaining continuity in the face of uncertainty. Beyond immediate responses, the discussion will explore how universities are strengthening their ability to remain stable, adaptive, and forward-looking.
Particular attention will be given to how university leadership and governing bodies are aligning to manage risk, support their communities, and build resilience into institutional strategy, systems, and decision-making—ensuring that institutions are not only responding to the current situation, but are better prepared for what lies ahead.

The Arab Consortium for Teaching and Learning Centers was initiated by CLICKS in December 2023 to act as a collaborative network committed to enhancing teaching and learning standards across the Arab region. This non-profit initiative brought together eight distinguished universities spanning six Arab countries including: UAE University, The American University of Beirut, the American University of Sharjah, Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (Morocco), The American University of Cairo, the American University of Bahrain, Abu Dhabi University, Ajman University, and Prince Sultan University, with the latter serving as the inaugural host. In addition to Naseej as the principal technology partner.
The Consortium’s primary goal is to establish a vibrant network of Centers of Excellence in Teaching and Learning, serving as a conduit for knowledge exchange, resource sharing, and the dissemination of best practices. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
