Workshop Overview

This two-day, highly interactive and applied program is specifically designed to support in strengthening program assessment practices to drive meaningful, evidence-based curriculum improvement and continuous quality enhancement.

In today’s higher education landscape, program assessment is no longer viewed as a compliance-driven exercise, but as a strategic mechanism for enhancing student learning, improving program effectiveness, supporting accreditation and quality assurance requirements, and informing institutional decision-making. Yet many institutions continue to face common challenges, including weak alignment between mission, Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), learning outcomes, teaching, and assessment practices; overemphasis on data collection with limited use of results for improvement; fragmented assessment approaches; and limited faculty engagement and ownership.

This program is designed to move beyond these challenges by equipping participants with the practical knowledge, skills, and tools required to design, implement, analyze, and sustain integrated and impact-driven program assessment processes. Particular emphasis is placed on strengthening alignment across program mission, PEOs, program and course learning outcomes, curriculum, and assessment practices to ensure coherence and meaningful use of evidence for improvement.

The program covers key areas including assessment planning and alignment, curriculum mapping, development of measurable learning outcomes, assessment methods and performance indicators, direct and indirect measures, data interpretation, reporting, and closing the loop. Participants will also explore emerging trends and current challenges in program assessment, while engaging in hands-on activities, reflection exercises, and practical applications tailored to their institutional context.

Workshop Outcomes
