Course and program reports are essential mechanisms for supporting evidence- based quality enhancement, informed academic decision-making, accreditation readiness, and continuous improvement within higher education institutions. When effectively developed and utilized, these reports provide meaningful insights into student performance, learning outcome achievement, curriculum effectiveness, assessment practices, teaching quality, and overall academic performance at both the course and program levels. They also play a critical role in identifying strengths, addressing gaps, supporting reflective practice, and informing strategic academic and curricular improvements.
This interactive online workshop is designed to equip participants with the practical knowledge and skills required to effectively develop, analyze, interpret, and utilize individual course reports, compiled course reports, and annual program reports as tools for academic quality enhancement and continuous improvement. The workshop emphasizes evidence-based reflection, interpretation of assessment and student performance data, analysis of aggregated and disaggregated findings, alignment with learning outcomes and curriculum maps, and development of actionable improvement plans informed by assessment evidence and stakeholder feedback.
Participants will also explore the relationship between course-level and program- level reporting processes, accreditation and institutional expectations, and the role of reporting in “closing the quality loop” and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-informed practice within higher education institutions.
At the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
Differentiate between individual course reports, compiled course reports, and
annual program reports and explain their role in quality enhancement and
continuous improvement.
Identify the essential components and expectations associated with effective
reporting practices.
Analyze aggregated and disaggregated assessment and student performance
data to identify trends, strengths, and areas requiring improvement.
Interpret learning outcomes assessment findings and stakeholder feedback to
support evidence-based decision-making.
Develop evidence-based recommendations and actionable improvement
plans informed by assessment findings and reflective analysis.
Recognize the relationship between reporting processes, curriculum enhancement, accreditation expectations, and institutional effectiveness.
This online workshop follows a practical, interactive, and application-oriented approach, combining short expert inputs with discussions, examples, guided exercises, and hands-on activities. Participants will engage with sample course and program reporting scenarios and practice interpreting assessment evidence, analyzing aggregated and disaggregated data, evaluating learning outcome achievement, identifying improvement priorities, and developing actionable enhancement plans relevant to their institutional contexts.
